NC Secretary of State: “35,000 LLC’s About to Be Dissolved”

The North Carolina Secretary of State has informed the Business Law Section of the State Bar Association that it plans to administratively dissolve 35,000 limited liability companies (LLCs) for failure to file Annual Reports. Annuals Reports are due before April 15 of the year after which the entity is created and April 15 of every year thereafter. If you have an LLC, please log onto to the NC Secretary of State website (http://www.secretary.state.nc.us/corporations/) and check that you have filed each annual report for each year of your existence after your first year.
